The 16 federal states also support the international partnerships of their universities. In addition, they conclude agreements on academic cooperation at the state level with foreign countries.

Here you can search for international partnerships by combining different search criteria.
For example, you can find out how many partnerships exist between the universities of a federal state and partner institutions in a foreign Country.

  • Notes on search criteria

    Federal state, Germany – Selection from a list of the 16 federal states

    Foreign country – Selection from a list of official short names of foreign countries
    Foreign location – Entry of the place name or part of it (please note the language rules below)
    Foreign institution, name – Entry of the name or a part of it (please note the language rules below)
    German institution, name – Entry of the name or a part of it in German
    German institution, short name – Selection from the short name list; the short names usually consist of the place name and a unique abbreviation of the university name
    German location – Entry of the place name or part of it in German
    Academic discipline – Selection from a list of academic disciplines
    Areas of cooperation – Selection from a list of areas of cooperation
    Type of agreement – Selection from a list of types of cooperation; Note: Choosing "Erasmus agreement" as type of agreement, as result you will receive agreements which are exclusively signed under the Erasmus programme
    ERASMUS cooperation – As a result, all partnerships that include an Erasmus agreement are reported

    Language rules for foreign institutions and locations

    The names and locations of foreign partner institutions in countries with the following official languages are recorded in the original version:
    German, English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
    The names and locations of all other foreign partner institutions are recorded in English.

    Exception is Belgium, where the Walloon partner institutions are recorded in French and the Flemish partner institutions in Flemish.

  • Notes on received results

    As a result of the search, you will receive a table in which, depending on the search criteria, the individual partnerships are listed according to the German universities.

    The other columns show the partner institution name, the location and the country.

    The details of the cooperation are displayed in a second step.
